1991-1999 Director of Stichting VluchtelingenWerk Delft (SVD). The SVD holds office in Delft, Pijnacker, Nootdorp and De Lier. The SVD employed at that time 20 staff members and 130 volunteers. The SVD delivers services to refugees in the region. In this period several innovative projects were developed in collaboration with refugee communities:

* support to unaccompanied minors

* collaboration with the Somali community

* support to criminal youth and their communities

* introduction of refugees at all levels in the organization

* develop a project to support refugee families through a programme of playing with the children at the homes of the families

1998 Consultancy in South Africa on refugee policy issues for the Refugee Rights Project of Lawyers for Human Rights

1993 Evaluation of CASE (Community Agency for Social Enquiry) commissioned by the Dutch Embassy in Pretoria
